This is one of the photos which I did not expect to make this morning. After I did a shoot during sunrise, I started to wander around to look for possible future compositions. This is a good habit to do if you are visiting a location which is not close by. If certain conditions are predicted, then you already know where to go, to make the most out of it.
During my wandering I came across this old worn jetty. Somehow jetties often are nice subjects in long exposure shots. The water can become a mirror when there is no wind or a nice milky surface if there are a lot of waves.
I like the juxtapositions in this photo. The old rustic worn jetty and the calming water and the colder blue tones against the warm orange tones.
This morning I went home with a planned photo, an unplanned photo and possible future photos for when the conditions are exactly right.
